Sierra wind gusts top 200mph?
-
Was anyone nearby who can report first hand? I find it hard to believe.
-
Several years ago a boatload of trees were mowed down by reported over 160 MPH winds west of Mammoth. But not first hand knowledge. I was pinned down in Little Lakes Valley below Treasure Lakes by more or less sustained 60-80 MPH winds for about 12 hours in the early 90s.

I can believe this. Mountains make weather. The Sierra's are some big mountains.
-
I saw a report of 199 in 2018 at Alpine Meadows
I will find it

zbrown! You got it.
Global warming side-effect, or just a high-point in a historical graph?
It's difficult to think this sort of wind gust happens often, or the tree line would go down?

But wait find one higher and we'll pay shipping
