@L-Aura Hi, I took that from the Alabama Hills. The prominent peak is Lone Pine Peak. The low point in the silhouette is Tuttle Pass, described in one guidebook as "only for the heartiest of men and women."
The tiniest pinnacle of them all is the Sharks Tooth. Here's an old pic of Shark's tooth I took from Mt Corcoran. The disastrous wreck of a wall in the background is the North Face of Langley, the southernmost 14'er in CA.
Sorry for the OT non-sunset pic.

More of a sundog than a sunset, but beautiful anyway...

Finally the friendly fog lifted to reveal....

California isn't the only place with beautiful sunsets...

You sure that ^^^^^ isn't Northern Cali, Ghost?
Like way, way, way North?

Indeed. I'd just now gotten around to "clickering" thru to display the full sized image (hint, hint fer' those who may have yet to explore this killer feature). Truly awesome shot there.
Lot's of awesome photos showing up here at RPU.

Well, if Seattle counts as northern Cali, then maybe...
We definitely got our share of fine sunsets there. Haven't seen anything like that in our new home, even though the situation on the coast is similar. But we've only lived here a few months, so we'll see what we get in late summer and fall.
