The science channel had a really good program on AI and some industry scientists say AI is advancing way faster than people realize. The general consensus was that in a relatively short time AI and robotics will decide humans are irrelevant. They will take over virtually all industries, including the financial and military. This wasn't doomsday thinking, but prognostication from experts in the field.
Interesting theory considering AI/robots now make pizza and coffee and will soon drive our cars, among other things. When AI/robots displace more and more of the workforce, how will people survive?
