Algarve Portugal - Deep Water Soloing?
-
Going to Portugal in a week and will be in Algarve (and Lisbon) and I've heard that there is trad climbing, sport climbing and deep water soloing. Since we're bringing surfboards, we're leaving the heavy climbing gear at home. We'll have shoes and chalk. Anyone here do any DWS in the south of Portugal? And since I've never done this, what tricks are there for chalk and shoes? I suspect chalk up at the start and leave the chalkbag on dry spot. Thanks!

leave the chalkbag on dry spot.
Not just the chalkbag, but also glasses/sunglasses. Or anything else that can separate from you when you hit the water from ten or twenty feet up.

I always liked the term; wet belay.

@David-Harris so, I shouldn't bring my smart phone and attempt a selfie on a wet, sloping choss pile over 30 feet of churning water? Got it
